I want my Mommy!
Taken on a cold November day, Logan was cold, tired, hungry and wanted his Mommy all at the same time. The tears streaming down his rosey red cheeks and the oh-so-sad look in his eyes make this image one of my favorite outtakes from the afternoon of shooting.

Don’t hang up on me!
From a shoot back in December, clearly some people don’t like to be hung up on.

Bella!
Two years ago today I got a phone call from some friends who couldn’t keep a puppy they had recently adopted and wanted to know if I knew anyone who was looking or if I would be interested. Having met the puppy I was all to eager to give her a good home. After work I drove down to meet with my friend and get my new puppy.

Bella was about seven months old when I took her into my home, still a puppy but mostly house broken and very well trained. She is a mix of Italian greyhound and Chihuahua and I truly belive that I got the best traits out of each dog. While she is not perfect and will leave a turd on the carpet at Kipper or Matt’s house or at Mark’s shop, she doesn’t pee inside, which is a huge problem with Italian greyhounds. She rarely ever barks and never nips or even licks people, all traits of Chihuahuas that most don’t like. While Chihuahuas tend to be one-owner dogs, Bella will happily sit on anyone’s lap at anytime and is very social, getting along with nearly every dog she comes in contact with. She also handles being off leash in a group of people and other dogs very well, coming back on the first call and never going more than twenty yards from me.

She’s made everyone smile whose ever met her or seen photos and, even on my most grumpy of days, brings a smirk to my face. I can’t imagine not having her. While her birthday isn’t until June, today is still a very memorable day for me.

Meth
This fall while walking around and old furnace turned park taking some photos of a friend, I took what would be considered a snapshot of a conceret wall that someone has defaced, mostly by scratching, no spray paint cans. Not thinking much of it, other than how funny / ironic it was that of all the obscene words one could scratch, METH was the predominant one to stand out. As it turns out, it has proven to be a rather popular image.

iStockphoto creative network
I am looking to grow, be inspired by and meet new photographers on iStockphoto, where I have been a member for six years now. My hope in doing this is to not only get some more exposure to my images, but to meet some like-minded photographers so we can help each other out, promote each other and give positive ratings to new images that we get approved.
Please click the pink button on the left to see my profile and add me to your creative network. If you don’t know what iStockphoto is and would like a quick crash course, please take a read at the first part in a series of articles I wrote, How to make money selling digital photos.
Everything is on sale
Last Saturday in the city I took some shots inside a clothing store, they weren’t real keen on this and I nearly got thrown out.

Stacked pallets
Towards the end of summer 2005 I hopped on my motorcycle, put a small film camera in the trunk and went for a ride to no where specific. I ended up in a part of town where I grew up and this shot was captured about 2 miles down the street that I grew up on at an apple orchard processing plant. Taken on slide film, the colors are very vivid and the stacks appear as if they may fall over at any time.

Fallen wet leaf
I got my first digital camera back in 2002, a 2mp Nikon 775. It was, at the time, a fairly good camera and did everything I wanted it to do. Also being fascinated with digital, I shot everything and everyone I saw.
Making breakfast one morning I noticed a fallen leaf on the back porch of the house, the wooden porch wet from rain the night before. I grabbed the camera, headed outside and snapped this wonderful still life, a reflection of the tree if fell from faintly visable in the puddle behind it. Sadly, I lost the original file in a hard drive crash around 2004. Lesson learned, always backup your files!
