Homebase Skateshop Birthday Skate Sesh

Monday kicked off this summer’s weekly Saugy Sesh put on by Homebase Skateshop, it also just so happened to be their 7th birthday. Good times, great people, some hot dogs and real dogs along with some skating all went down.

A trip to the Game Lands

Matt and I threw our gang in the truck for a fall trip up to the Game Lands to let em run around and get a short hike in. Here’s a few of the photos from the short trip since a storm must moved the fallen tree that we’ve been using to cross the one river and limited how far we could really go.

Bella won’t hunker down unless she’s on a blanket or under a blanket. Last night she happened to share one with Archie.

Took the point and shoot with me last night to the park, Bella actually sat and stayed long enough to get a great shot of her.

Two years ago today I got a phone call from some friends who couldn’t keep a puppy they had recently adopted and wanted to know if I knew anyone who was looking or if I would be interested. Having met the puppy I was all to eager to give her a good home. After work I drove down to meet with my friend and get my new puppy.

Bella was about seven months old when I took her into my home, still a puppy but mostly house broken and very well trained. She is a mix of Italian greyhound and Chihuahua and I truly belive that I got the best traits out of each dog. While she is not perfect and will leave a turd on the carpet at Kipper or Matt’s house or at Mark’s shop, she doesn’t pee inside, which is a huge problem with Italian greyhounds. She rarely ever barks and never nips or even licks people, all traits of Chihuahuas that most don’t like. While Chihuahuas tend to be one-owner dogs, Bella will happily sit on anyone’s lap at anytime and is very social, getting along with nearly every dog she comes in contact with. She also handles being off leash in a group of people and other dogs very well, coming back on the first call and never going more than twenty yards from me.

She’s made everyone smile whose ever met her or seen photos and, even on my most grumpy of days, brings a smirk to my face. I can’t imagine not having her. While her birthday isn’t until June, today is still a very memorable day for me.
